  • RCI Last Call vs Extra Vacations

I am looking for a Last Call resort to coincide with a business meeting I'm attending. My week-long search revealed inventory the week before the checkin date I needed. There was, however, inventory in Extra Vacations, but the cost was over $300. Today, the Extra Vacations inventory for the resort I want is priced at $189 so I put a unit on hold.

Does anybody know if the inventory in Extra Vacations eventually shifts to Extra Call or are they separate pools? I'd sure love to save the extra $70, but I don't want risk not having a unit at all.

Anyone here familiar with the patterns of EV and Last Call inventory?

    Thanks.

Evelyn the weeks hardly ever shift over to Last Call anymore. The price might come down a bit in the Extra Vacations but RCI makes more in that bucket so anything worth anyone's while tends to stay there.

I personally would not risk the week for $70.

Thanks Lawren2 for the info. I'm thinking like you - I'd rather not risk the week. However, the story is a bit more complicated. The week I wanted WAS on Last Call yesterday. I clicked on it, entered the credit card info and got to the last screen and instead of a confirmation, I received an error notice that said there was no such inventory. Called an RCI guide and they couldn't see inventory either. Their explanation was that someone already booked the unit. That unit remained on Last Call all evening and I one or two more times to book it but with no luck (hope all those entries don't hit my credit card!!). So needless to say, I was a bit ticked off at RCI!! So I'm thinking I really deserve that $60 break for all the hassles and frustration in dealing with their website. Well, at least I have until tomorrow at midnight to watch Last Call.

Evelyn keep an eye on it.
I've been patiently waiting for an Atlantic City to switch over to Last Call or even a better price on EV but it doesn't seem to be happening.
A friend only needs it for 2 nights so the $350 isn't worth it when the week prior is sitting in last call for $130.

I wouldn't be surprised if the week you tried to get was "sold" thru one of RCI's other rental venues. Nothing would surprise me at this point. Hopefully it comes back for you. Sunday mornings are usually pretty interesting on exchange availability after the weekly "maintenance" is done.

          Hooray
Checked RCI Last Call at 4:30 am after the maintenance period and there was nothing for the week I wanted. Did my routine searches and was ready to head back to bed when I decided to try Last Call one more time. Surprisely, three more units had been added, including a 1 bedroom for the week I needed. I couldn't hit the buttons fast enough! Guess I'll stay up and plan that vacation!

            Super News!
I'm so glad the timing worked for you Evelyn. Please take some pictures of the unit for us here at TS4Ms and enjoy.
