VCC and Starwood bulk space bank

Since I had a 2007 week with my purchase I grabbed a week 52 to deposit. Now for 2008 I guess I should try and grab a spring break Easter week.

Does anyone have that II supply/demand index for VVC since I can't seem to find it in my old II resort directory? I have not joined II yet but am trying to line up my 'ducks' before I make that next step....thanks.
    John,

The reason week 52 is still available is because Starwood bulk space banks and does not bulk space bank holiday weeks. They save holiday weeks for owners that are going to use. They will not let you deposit a week you reserved for owner use. You will need to call Owner services when you get your II account set up and get them to assign a week from their corporate account to your account. The good news is you do not have to worry about late depositing. They usually deposit about 9-11 months ahead.

With regard to 2008, I don't think they have deposited any weeks past January 2008.

I would guess trading power in the following order.

March, Feb, Jan, April, May, Oct, Nov.

The good news is that at least any week in the first 4 months of the year will trade into any 2 bedroom Starwood that is likely to be deposited. Keep in mind that you are unlikely to find any holiday weeks at other Starwood properties being deposited, especially 2 bedrooms. Also a plus with a 2 bedroom you can put in an ongoing request. There is probobly lots of stuff that never makes it online.

    Congrats,

    Short

      Short,
Both Angela and I have deposited holiday weeks with II - they can not 'prevent' you from doing it.

I deposited Christmas week at Sheraton PGA and plan on depositing easter 2008 soon.

Agreed....Also, I have seen holiday weeks deposited for Sheraton Desert Oasis, Cave Creek, Westin Mission Hills, Broadway Plantations, etc.

I have also seen bulk deposits through the end of Feb, beginning of March, at some of their resorts, for 2008.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

            Short,

Villas of Cave Creek is managed by Starwood (part of SVO), but not part of SVN--I'm not certain, but I believe that changes things and owners can select the weeks to be deposited in II (or RCI).

              As I said

The way I described how SVO handles VCC is based on my experience. If you want to get into it with SVO and get a manager involved its possible you can deposit a specific week. I have never felt the need to go that route. I have had a Nov, Dec Feb and March weeks and I never found any sighting I could not see with them except those under some other resort priority or a VEP issue like FSA.

We will let John report back on his experience.

OK. I am currently closing on a VCC week, so I will be watching this closely.

Now hopefully I will be able to see some of those Westin sightings.

What is the best week to deposit? And II is the best place to deposit isn't it?

Anyone care to share any insights into trading with this resort?....Please.

                  Thanks.

Cave Creek is close enough to Scottsdale/Phoenix that I would think a mid-March week would be the best because of MLB's Spring Training.

Just an update. I am staying at the Westin Kaanapali North in a 2BR over the Christmas Holiday and the first week in January having traded via my VCC week. I deposited week 52 and week 12 Easter after I reserved them and had them deposit those specific weeks. So far so good.

                      I.I. Travel Demand Index

Week 5, and 9 - 13 are the highest according to the Travel Demand Index in the 2009 I.I. directory for the Arizona Desert.
Week 6 is one lower from the top.
Week 8, 51, 52 are three lower from the top.
