Thus far only one. It is/was Oak Plantation in Orlando. Since we only own every other odd year it wasn't a big deal. SFX at first said they would take it along with my England summer week, and my Greece summer week. I went to deposit it and they took the two plums and said that they couldn't take the Oak Plantation week...bait and switch.
I then tried Dial an Exchange and they were thrilled to get it, but Oak Plantation said no, they only work with the majors. So, now it is deposited with one of the majors.
I did want to mention prior to make any deposit with SFX I emailed them what I had available for deposit. The return email stated they would take all units, then when I filled out the forms and faxed them back the England and Greece weeks were taken by SFX and they rejected the Oak Plantation week as "not being up to their standard." So how am I to feel regarding that?

Is your Oak Plantation week deeded? If so, I would complain to the Florida Real Estate Commission about their behavior in failing to let you use YOUR week the way YOU wanted!

Yes, It is deeded, but I deposited it with RCI since time was short. I deposited it 61 days ahead of check in and must say am pleasantly surprised at the way it is seeing trades. Now, nothing that's too difficult, but I thought it would be a real dog and it isn't. I'm seeing HH during spring break and Califoneia at a time we want to go. Like I said nothing earth shaking, but acceptable.
I'll do the Florida Real Estate Commission when I have time. It's an every odd year week, so I have time. Thanks for the idea!

Joy, you can deposit your week with any company YOU want as long as the company will accept it.
Example: II won't take a Grand Mayan Week, RCI won't take a Bluebeard's BeachClub or Marriott Aruba Surf Club week, SFX won't take an October Week in Cape Cod.
So you can deposit with whoever you want as long as the company will accept it - all your resort or management company does is confirm your ownership and reservation at your owned resort.

I was sort of aware of that, but this Oak Plantation week was first accepted by SFX with the other weeks and then after they got the two really good weeks (England summer and Greece ) SFX said they didn't want Oak Plantation....after saying they would in the original email.
I waited before trying to deposit with any other exchange company because a person I work with was going to use it. Then his wife couldn't get the week off (Memorial Day week). I was at the 61 day mark when I called the reservatiion department to find out they would only deposit to II or RCI.
I'll do something different for the 2009 week, but I have a year to make up my mind regarding that week.
My point in this thread was that SFX uses what I would consider underhanded tactics to get deposits. On one hand they will take the package; they pick the choice weeks (remember they have your signature on the deposit form) then decline the not so choice weeks. Just MOHO.

I had problems trying to get my week with Grand Timbers confirmed with Trading places and was running out of time to get an AC with II. So I punted, and deposited it with II this year.

Joy, had you raised this issue with Mark at SFX? If I had that happen to me, I wouldn't have given in quite as readily, considering I had written confirmation. I believe when other members have raised issues with SFX, they would go back and honour their word.
