RCI Exchange using Every Other Year Lock-Out

Hello

Considering the purchase of a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Every Other Year Lock-Out.

Can someone explain how I can trade with these using RCI.

Do I deposit as 2 separate units? Can I deposit and use 1 every year?

Here are your choices

Give RCI both units at once as a 2 bedroom
Give Rci both units separate, 2 1 bedroom units
Give Rci 1 unit and rent or use the other.

This can only be done EOY.

RCI maven checking in...

Yes that is how you would do it. Depositing as 2 units or using the larger and depositing the smaller <or vice versa>.

Each deposit is good for a year up until ckeck-in and 2 years past check-in.

Now for the BIG questions. Where is your "pending" resort. What is your "pending" resort name? What week or season do you own?

Where would you like to trade it? Are you looking for easier trade areas or harder ones? Off-season or in-season? Are you flexible or fixed in your needs?

Only with those answers can we make an educated guess on whether this prospective purchase and RCI would be a good answer to what will serve you best.

Actually it's a Sunterra property in Gatlinburg.

Not knowing much about Sunterra, at the moment I think I would only be interested in continuing with my RCI weeks.

We would most likely use one of the weeks ourselves.

Just giving some to thought to it.

At the moment, we have 3 weeks and considering letting out of 1 or both of our South African weeks.

We are very flexible with exchanges.

Lawren is right. Before you ask how to trade it with RCI, you would benefit from asking whether what you are purchasing will get you where you want to go...

eta: oops our posts crossed. I don't know much about Sunterra. I am assuming it's not a Club Sunterra points purchase, but a weeks purchase. And I see you know what you're doing with RCI. So if you're sure it's a prime week, and the price is right, then follow Frank's post for your options...

If you want to use a week every year, you probably want to split it into two weeks. You have up to two years to use them, so you could easily stagger them so that you always have a week to search with.

It's a Red Summer Week.

As far as where I would like to trade.

We are flexible and have been happy with what we have managed to get from RCI in the Past with our Sudwala in South Africa and our Mariner's Point in Crossville TN weeks.

Our Good trades were with the help of this board and Tug and the sightings of the members.

If we can get comparable it would be fine.
