Help! Anyone want to exchange...

Hi,

I would like to exchange with someone who owns a week in the Caribbean, particularly Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I am giving this week to my brother and his fiance as a gift for their wedding and thus for their honeymoon.

I am in a disagreement with my home resort in CAncun and therefore do not wish to use my primary week there to exchange into another resort.

However, I have deposited my 2005 week with DAE and they said that I could exchange that week with someone and that person would use my deposited week as a guest. I have already asked DAE to exchange for me into either the Dominican republic, Bahamas, or Virgin Islands but they do not have any of those weeks in their inventory.

I am looking for Sat. November 3- 10, 2007.

Please let me know if anyone is willing to do this exchange. THanks!!

You might have some difficulty getting someone to take you up on your offer.
You say you have deposited your 2005 week with DAE - usually deposits expire with exchange companies after 2 years so the window to use this week if very small.

You might want to try renting the week you need in DR for your relative either thru DAE, join Trading Places International - Timeshare Rentals, Exchange, Resales, and Travel Services for free and try them for a rental or one of the many rental sites: Timeshare Rentals, Timeshare Resales, Timeshare Ratings, and Timeshare Reviews - RedWeek.com Timeshare Rentals and Timeshare Resales By Owner - My Resort Network or some of the RCI rental sites that are listed on this board.

I will clarify...

My week I deposited with Dial an Exchange is from 2005, however, I reserved a week in Dec. 2006 which is the actual date that DAE goes by in figuring out expiration. So this deposited week is actually good through 12/ 2008 since DAE allows use for two years from reserved week.

I was really hoping not to have my brother rent a week since they are trying to save money and since I already paid for this week, I figured I would just exchange it to somewhere they would like to go.
