  • Redweek seems to have listened. Real time lists available.

We haven't made a public announcement yet about our new exchange program. Only a very small number of our members have been notified as we test and refine the operation in a "soft launch." We are already getting new deposits every day across a broadening spectrum of resorts.
In response to your requests, we have provided a display of the entire list we have available for exchange. View the exchange availability here:
    http://www.redweek.com/exchange/browse
This list will change hourly as we get more deposits confirmed.
We also recommend that you deposit early... in some cases we are adding a little premium to the bids we send out to encourage the first deposits. Our offers may decline as the check-in date gets closer. The number of existing deposits for any particular resort will also influence our bid.
Thank you from all of us at RedWeek for your support and trust. We promise we will earn it and you will have the best exchange company ever. More exchange features are coming... lots more.

I took a look at the list. Defintely a work in progress unless one happens to want to go to the Canary Islands or Spain.

Guess a plus is if one has a highly rated resort for which II or RCI won't show low rate resorts as exchanges. Under the right circumstances, getting two or three weeks in a less wonderful resort might meet one's needs.

      No inventory to speak of.
Where are they going to get it?

I hope this works out because I am looking for something other than RCI.

I agree with Art that this might be a good thing for people who search only within RCI and who own where the VEP of RCI keeps them from seeing perfectly acceptable resorts.

The no fee guest certificate is nice, too.

The inventory you are seeing around the world is from DAE, the company who has always done a great job of specializing in international timeshare exchanges.

We will see how it progresses. I am pretty happy to see more options for those who do not want to pay membership fees of $89 per year + $164 for an exchange. I know my sister-in-law will be watching, as they have used their week for 25 years in a row, same Memorial Day week, every year, just because they don't want to pay II. They have no idea what is out there!

              interesting....

just had a look at the Redweek inventory for Fairways Club in Tenerife. A quick comparison with the DAE Europe website shows that the weeks on Redweek are the same ones DAE have in their 'available' list (which are weeks not taken up by ongoing requests).

We used RCI (our one and only RCI exchange!) to exchange there last year, I traded a blue Smugglers Notch week for a 2 bedrm unit in August at Fairways - seemed a "fair swop" to me.

Now, Redweek have offered me about 800 points for my Smuggs blue week, and a Fairways week 'costs' 288 points for a 1 bedrm in August, so in theory I could get 2 August weeks and still have points left over.

The only problem is, we need 2 bedrooms and Redweek are only showing 1 bedrooms and studios. I guess a 2 bedrm in August would come in at about 400 points, so I could still get 2 weeks for my one Smuggs week.

With DAE I always phone them to put in an ongoing request for our (rather specific) requirements, and have always received a suitable trade within a few weeks.

Unless Redweek introduce a similar ongoing search facility I don't think I would use them, regardless of the opportunities to get 2 or more weeks for one deposit - I haven't got time to search daily for what we want/need.

Not sure where i'm going with these thoughts....I was just going through the process of wondering if Redweek exchanges would work for us at the present time.

For laughs, I asked for the point value of a 2BR week 21 unit at Harbor Ridge in Maine. The estimate was close to 1800 points so the message is that this week can be considered a strong trader.

Now, if RedWeek only had some other weeks of comparable value to trade for. Maybe, having to compete for good weeks with II isn't all bad. To me, it is better to fight for a good week that I might not get, than to have nothing to fight for.
