  • How will my week do with II?

One of my resorts is affiliated with II. Presently I have been depositing it with RCI and it trades really well. I was wondering how it would do in II. The code is SWB - Sweetwater at the Waikiki Banyon. It is a 1BR. It is a rotating week so the 2008 week would be in September. I understand that with II you can only exchange into a like size unit, so I would not get a 2BR.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how this week would trade? I see all the II postings and wish I could get in on some of them. The 2009 week will be in Feb. or March. Thanks.

    Jackie,

I am not familiar with this resort. However, you can request a 2 bdrm, if the resort doesn't offer anything smaller. There are resorts that only have 2, or 2 & 3 bdrms. Also, you can do searches, and anything that you can see, you can grab. 1, 2, or 3 bdrms. Good Luck!!

Hopefully, someone familiar with this resort, will chime in.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I would believe that just like RCI this will trade well in II too. ( come on, all Hawaii trades well.)

You can trade for a 2 BD unit with 1bd and even studios. You just can't have an ongoing request for a 2 bd unit at a resort with both 1 bd and 2 bd units. If you can see a 2 bd online than you can trade for that unit.

Give it at least a shot

You'll most likely be disappointed with what you are offered in II compared to RCI (as it sounds like you have done OK with them) but it is worth a try so you can see for yourself. You can also experience the irritating procedures II uses as they try very hard to get you to take something other than what you ask for. And be very careful if they do confirm your trade as it often isn't right and they seem to have a great deal of trouble reaching you with what they call a match but no trouble finding you to offer gross mis-matches.

Anyway you can guess I wasn't happy with what II produced over 10 years of membership for us but I do encourage everyone who has a dual affiliated resort to try both and be sure you are getting the best trades you can. Some are very happy with II and maybe you would be too. You won't know until you try.

You can do a search without depositing your week in II. You could join II if you are not a member, or pay for an extra year's membership to add the resort to your account if you are.

Is the Sweetwater Waikiki, well kept? I have an amazing trader in RCI that trades like a dog in II. II trade power is very sensitive to resort quality. My RCI great trader is a "hospitality" resort in RCI, so you can compare the quality of your resort with this.

Regardless, searching without depositing is one of my favorite features in II because you can see how well your week would do.

Just my 2 cents re: Interval International. Unless you have a Marriott or similar great trader don't waste your time.

One of my resorts is II only until 2011. We checked for online exchanges but our huge 2 bedroom would mostly pull only 1 bedroom trades.

Also, II had decided that our resort is not oceanfront because it is 2 buildings, one on the beach and one across a small street.

I also use RCI and truly believe our trades will be better there after this agreement with II exclusive is over.

              Jacki,

I bought a week early last year at swb. I was going to put in II but they charge a fee to add another week to my account or free if I extend my membership . RCI did not charge and seemed to pull good weeks for a 2008 week.

I may reconsider putting in II when my membership renewal comes up in 2009but my exchanges with II has gotten worst in the last few years that I may not renew my membership. I always seemed to be trading down either to a less quality resort or smaller unit. Unless you have specific locations you like to go that is not availabe at RCI I would stay with RCI. However, if you can travel with 45-60 days and/or off season), the availability is pretty good (something I cannot do because of school kids are in school). You can also trade for larger unit if available on line.

If you decide to join, let us know how it trades.

Thanks for all the input. SWB is a standard resort, and not oceanfront. I work at a school, so am confined to travelling during peak times. So far I am getting great trades with this resort through RCI. I guess I'll stay with them for this resort and maybe get myself something to use in II. (Except I have too many timeshares already LOL)

Quality matters with II - It would probably trade well but not nto the 'fancy' resorts you see Angela posting...I will pm you - to see if u want to 'test drive' my account.
I have Marriott, Sheraton and standard resorts - so I see it all

It might be worth joining II just to search first and see how it does. II has some very good Getaway deals, and some people have had good luck with II's travel agency, so you might get your $84 worth even if you never exchange your week with them.
