Hello Has any member(s) tried to xchange their FF/wyndham pts towards a timeshare in France in the last year or so ?? Did you bank with RCI 1st or go straight thru wyndham. this should have been the 1st Q...can FF owners get time in france ??? we would like to travel and stay in/around Paris if possible...Brother is having a hard time getting anywheres with interval international fer time thru his timeshare company( Westgate?)as We have specific travel dates we have to use to travel, thinking about Sept/ Oct timeframe to go . so I was thinking maybe I could use my FF pts and xchange thru RCI .any info or help would be appreciated. thank you in advance.

Thanks to the sightings on this board, I was able to book a week at the Royal Regency in Vincennes (which is, apparently at the end of one of the French Metro lines).
When the sighting appeared in August or September 2006, I booked it immediately. The reservation was for a 1 bedroom, and I deposited enough points for a 1 bedroom red week (90k, I believe). The reservation is for late May 2008.
I called and deposited points for a week, because this was a weeks trade. I did not perform an ongoing search.

Thom,
Using your FF points directly is probably not an option as to my knowledge I don't believe that FF has any properties in Europe.
As to the rest of your question a lot depends on if you are talking about August/September this year or next year. If it is this year you are looking for I don't have much hope of your being able to find it, it is getting too close to the dates when you want to go. I an also a FF owner and I just did a quick search to see if I could see anything out there for France Aug/Sept this year and I don't see anything. If next year then my advice would be to get started right away. Using your FF points request an RCI deposit for trading. I would use enough points and make at least a 1BR red time frame deposit as unless you get incredibly lucky anything else will not pull a European timeshare. Put in an on going search and see what happens. I also did a quick search for next year that time frame and don't see anything but my FF trader that I have that can look out that far is nota particulairly good trader.
Oh yeah, if you don't really care if you can do on line searches or not I would make your deposit a generic one to assure that your are at least getting average trading value as some FF deposits trade better than others. One of my traders that runs out soon is a LV Grand Desert and the other that is good for a lot longer is a Williamsburg Patriot Place and although they are both red 1BR deposits the Grand Desert is a great trader ad the Williamsburg so far seems to be somewhat lame.
Anyway hope this helps.

Royal Regency
Royal Regency is fairly easy with FF points if you are flexible. We stayed in a 1 bedroom there mid May 2007. Not the best accomodations but as they say you are in (near) Paris. My deposit was 42,000 FF points. Once you get there, transportation to and from Paris is easy on the Metro or TRAIN.
