  • How do I use the exchange opportunities forum?

Sorry, I am new and just wualified to be on this forum. How do I use it?

I see a bunch of timeshares listed. What do I do if I see one I like? Do I offer my timeshare to the owner and see if they are interested in a trade? Are they renting it?

Do I post my timeshare and wait for a trade offer?

If you see something you like go quickly to RCI and grab it as an exchange while it's still available.

BP, these are exchange opportunities that are available thru RCI on their online website. The poster is using their week that is deposited with RCI to search for certain destinations/locations.

In order for you to take advantage of these exchange opportunities, you need to have a week deposited with RCI. You would then do your own online search (or call RCI) to see if your week has the 'trade power' to get that exchange. Availability changes rapidly, so something someone posts at 9 am might not be available at 9:30.

This particular forum is for sightings only so the moderator will move the thread to the exchange question area....

      Welcome to TS4Ms!

Thanks for clarifying. But if somebody can search directly through RCI, why would they need to use this forum to find something? Can't they find the same timeshares directly through RCI?

          Yes they could.

I try to keep things subjective but as an exchange opportunities junkie specializing in RCI that becomes hard to do at times.

Over the years my family has taken many vacations. Some of which would never have occurred to us until we saw them on an ex-op board.

          Places like Sedona <loved it>, SFO <loved it> and Grand Cayman <adored it>.

SO, not only is it a place to ask for "sightings" it is a place to get ideas, to see what is available and match your spacebank deposit against the postings to see what kind of trade power your own week has.

As a "newbie" you may have no idea how much work is involved "searching" RCI. It is bulky and not user friendly. We do it because we love to share. OK maybe some of us are obsessive/compulsive.

It is a place to learn, ask questions and get ideas.

          Signed,
Your not so modest exchange opportunity moderator for RCI.

Lawren is being extremely modest...RCI online is HORRIBLE to search on - very cumbersome, and you have to know just HOW to search to get the good stuff

Yep, and who wants to get up and spend a half hour looking for something special they want. I did it this morning (on II) and I found something that just didn't quite grab me- so I posted it as a sighting. As a member of both exchange companies- I can see if there is anything good for me out there in a few seconds with the sightings. Best thing since sliced bread- oops I hate that analogy- I hate sliced bread.

30 minutes. I should be so lucky. Just doing prime time "summer" and some winter with a dip into last minute availability takes over an hour.

Faust will be back next week and lift the burden. I know his Mexico fans miss him when he is "on exchange".
