  • With RCI, when do you start a search for 2010?

I have a week deposited with RCI. It expires 7/31/2010. I'm thinking that I will try to use it to get a week in Williamsburg in July of 2010.

When is the best and most sensible time to start an ongoing search?

You can only begin a search exactly 2 years out. So July 2008 would be your target date to start an on-going search.

Do you pay your fees in advance to be able to search so far in advance?

Our taxes and management fees are not due til Jan. and they won't let us book/ deposit until those are paid.

Typically, most resorts will let you pre-pay your MFs, making the week eligible for deposit. However, if you want to, say, deposit 2009 now but retain 2008 for your own use, you have to pay 2008 *and* 2009, not just 2009.

For most people, the lost opportunity cost is minimal---$50 per year or less.
