I had two deposits in my rci account. One was a two bedroom, the other was with the same resort but was the studio lock off. I did search online for the resort I wanted to go with both. The week I wanted the studio showed a 1br available. my 2br brought up a 2br and the 1br. I wanted the 2br but of course i'd rather use the studio if i could. So i put in an ongoing search against the studio for the specific resort and week for 5 people. A couple of days later i check my rci acount and to my suprise they have the unit on hold for me and I click confirm. Out of curiosity I run the search again with my 2br deposit and there is another 2br available same dates.
So I'm wondering did they have multiple weeks in inventory making them more likely to get one using a smaller unit. does rci have different critiria for approving an ongoing search as opposed to someone just doing their own search online. Whatever it was I am very happy. I just wish RCI could let you request to be emailed when they put a week on hold for you. I have had several ongoing request that were filled, they never have called to tell me but perhaps is because they know I have accessed my account online.
