On another recent thread, the OP revealed some detailed information on requests, timing, etc., and then became upset with Mark when he responded with additional details that cast doubts on the OP comments. Big Frank & others agreed that account details would not be discussed on this forum.

This is not the Ask SFX forum. This is the Exchanging Forum.

The OP was posing a general question to the full membership, not a specific question to Mark@SFX.

I have a feeling Mark thought this was in his forum from looking at the title. I don't see anything wrong with the post. OP is asking for help on where she should try to make use of her weeks that might expire.

Seems to be a misunderstanding - I LOVE to talk about where to go with other forum members.
It is why I ended up in Lake Tahoe this year and why I am going to OBX next year - because other members have gone and had such a great experience.

I hope so. There is nothing personal about Ann-Marie's post.

Are folks that use SFX really not allowed to discuss exchanges that they have or haven't gotten? And how would this be enforced if it were even legal? If that were the case, then entire threads on TUG would have to be deleted....

From what I have read and understand the member is free to discuss what they want to but SFX will not discuss personal details of a member in a public forum. It sounds like a privacy thing to me and I think it is right. SFX would not want to divulge any personal info on the member. Mark said that Ann Marie was free to ask and get info from other Timeshare Forums members.

                Ann-Marie,

What about Scottsdale? In February and March it is delightful and being so near Phoenix it is easy to get to. Phoenix has lots to offer ; fine dining, museums, shopping, golf, hot air ballooning. Scottsdale is lovely with many, many things to do and see. A week would just fly by. You could even do a day trip to Sedona and see the beautiful red rocks. Superstition Mountain is another place where there's lots to do. Here's a link Best of Superstition Mountain Arizona here's on for Scottsdale Scottsdale Arizona | Resorts | Restaurants | Scottsdale Az Golf.

I love Arizona and spent one college semester there and now go back every time I can. There are several nice resorts in the greater Ohoenix area and I believe SFX represents several.

Thanks Joy. We own a week in Scottsdale, and have been to Sedona several times. I was considering something South of Phoenix, but I am not sure what else is really interesting. Unless we use it for another week in Scottsdale. Our week we own is an every other year, even years, so we could go on the odd year.

                    Hi Ann-Marie
Yes, there is lots to see in WI Dells - we enjoyed our time there and went to no waterparks - just my husband and I. But then, we like to drive around and look at things. Went on the river tour, very nice.

How about Phoenix - we were there in July (everyone said it would be too hot,...but after all, we had a beautiful air-conditioned unit at the Sheraton, and a great pool - what's to be too hot??) We really enjoyed it, it's beautiful and quite easy for SFX to get you there. Sedonna - everyone RAVES about it...

Souuds like you might not like BRANSON - very very easy to get in! (You've probably been there?) - need to fly in to Springfield though and drive down. I never thought I would like it, then we went to the Fairfield resoirts there and absolutely LOVE it!

Guess you didn;t really tell us what you kind of place you would like....we have been to so many great places -- have some have been real wonderful surprises

Las Vegas? It's not high on my list, but lots of people really enjoy it. New Orleans? Western Canada?

                        Ann-Marie,

Tuscon is nice and there's the Senora Desert, Organ Pipe National Monument and several other things to see. Yes, you could stay in Scottsdale and do it, but being closer is better. There's a Worldmark Tucson at Oro Valley and there are a few resorts in Tucson that I hear are nice. I don't know SFX availability there, but I think they accept Worldmark and Shell Vacation Club Resorts.

Of course there's always Hilton Head. Tons of resorts, lots of golf and an easy drive to Savannah to see the historic homes. There's also lots of poublic parks, monuments and museums. Could be an interesting week.

Again, I haven't been to the Wisconsin Dells myself, but I imagine there's hiking and some very nice drives. My wife's from northern Minnesota, which is just about 3-4 hours north of there. There's a lot of hiking, canoeing, fishing, and boating available there. Lots of winter sports too, if you go at that time of year. I'm sure golfing would be available, but I don't know about the quality of the courses.

Thanks everyone for your responses. When I originally banked my weeks with SFX, I thought it would be feasible to get an exchange somewhere on the East Coast. It seems that this is not happening. This is why I need to look more toward the West Coast. Truthfully, I really don't have much desire to go to far West, but I also do not want to loose 3 banked weeks. We have been to Branson, but maybe I will consider going back. Tuscon is another possibility. LV, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco and probably San Diego are all out since we have been there a number of times. Also, when I do an exchange like that, I would like to go for 2 weeks in a row.
I am a little disturbed that Mark jumped on me like he did. I did not post this on Ask SFX forum, and I should be able to discuss the fact that I have not gotten any exchanges for the East coast. Maybe this can be called a learning experience, however I was not aware of the limited availability of SFX exchanges on the East coast. I think this goes back again to the fact that as a SFX member, I not able to see the availability that SFX might have. So, if I wish to travel to a certain area, I would be able to tell if there is abundent availability, or limited to none at all.
I also wanted to get a sense of where I would consider going prior to calling SFX and speaking to a vacation counselor. This way I can research what that area would have to offer before I call.

Annmarie did you trhink of Mexico, SFX is IMO the best way to get a Grand Mayan without a 1 and 5 rule.

I'm so afraid of Mexico after getting sick both times I have been there. I'm thinking also maybe New Mexico. However, all of these places, I have no way of telling how much availability SFX has, and I don't think I can make a request until 12 months out.
