It's the exact opposite in my house. I always want to go anywhere, at any time, but my DH can't get off from work.

Yup, just changed jobs again and I only get 2 weeks of vacation this year, 3 next year. Luckily they put my vacation weeks on their calendar even before I accepted the offer so I'll be able to take them both.

In 5 or so years, I'm hoping to be retired and I'll be able to travel more. DH will probably still be working, but he'll have 4 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days, and all of Christmas week off.

Same here. So, we are off to Vegas - just my son and I! DW hopes to have some quiet time at home! I am also slowly introducing the idea of working 'remotely'. Hope to do this at least during holiday weeks... like Thanksgiving week, July 4th week etc. where we get 4 day weekends.

If he doesn't want to go, do what I have started doing. Go without him. Even a week's vacation wouldn't make up for all the time my husband spends away from me playing golf all year. So, I've started making friends with divorced women and now I have people to travel with whenever I want. We bring the kids (most of the time) and everyone is happy.
