  • The RCI Class Action sputters into nothing

As predicted by many the ridiculous and gutted RCI Class Action is reportedly headed toward the expected end of a settlement making the shyster classs action lawyers a ton of cash and giving RCI a love pat and finger wag to "behave".

What a colossal waste of time, effort and money which the members of RCI will pay for. And to think some actually thought it would accomplish something! As for prognostications those who don't see lawsuits as a viable way to accomplish positive change are looking to go 2 for 2 with the recent announcement of settlement at Bluebeards and now the end of the RCI fiasco.

Maybe now we can concentrate on doing what we should have done all along. Talk with your dollars and that will make companies listen. Be active in your resorts operations to protect your ownerships.

With RCI I've voted with my feet as much as I can. I've allowed my membership to lapse with my one weeks account unit and with our HGVC unit, I just don't give it to RCI for exchange. Owning where you like to go or in a system that allows you to utilize some sort of internal exchange program IMO is a good way to protect and insulate yourself from exchange company abuses.

So far none but if I see one I'll post it. It is a rumor from the underground right now.

And here is an interesting link to your all too typical class action weasel.

Most are in it strictly for the money - nothing to do with "helping" the so called injured members. This one appears to be following the standard pattern.

Now if we can just close pout the Wyndham Points suit - it may already be dead - we'll be 3 for 3.
