  • RCI Trade Power of Tail End of Summer Week - NE USA

I've moved on from considering a summer FL east coast beach week for a new mainly trader TS. Maybe.

I was told back when I started to only go for Weeks 26-32 for Cape Cod, Newport, etc. However, except for getting really lucky, those weeks are priced high. Would the drop in trade power for a Week 33 or maybe a Week 34 be that huge, given that RCI still considers them to be red weeks, and a fair number of schools are not yet back in session, especially the northeaster schools?

Or would their trade power be more like the summer FL east coast week... good, maybe even very good at times, but not reliably strong?

    Thanks again!

The II travel demand index for the New England coast has weeks 25 thru 34 showing the maximum demand, so I would guess that RCI would also give them great trading power. I'm not sure Newport would be as desirable as the cape and beachfront resorts would certainly be more desirable.

I think Newport would be very strong, too...IF you could deposit a summer Newport week. Wyndham owns most of the Newport resorts and, if I understand how they work things, the Wyndham points people don't choose the week that gets deposited--Wyndham does. You would need to own a fixed summer week in Newport to get good trading power.

I own two weeks on Cape Cod. One is a one bedroom week 34 in Hyannis and it trades wonderfully through either major exchange system. It also gets an AC from II when I deposit it there. I have a week 27 on the beach in P'town. It is only a studio but the trade power is excellent.

A friend own a week 35 in Hyannis and she has had excellent trades. I do think that anything later then 35 could be a problem. JMHO

I have not been unhappy with week 35. CC trade power. I had one small disappointment with it.

Would recommend 34 or earlier if possible.

Thanks! I was hoping for this answer as it opens up a few more weeks for me to search for, that would still be very solid RCI traders.

I am really only considering studios and 1 bedrooms as any Cape Cod TS I buy would be strictly a trader and there's no sense paying for more (and higher MFs) than necessary to get the best trades.

Thanks again! I appreciate you all putting up with my basic questions
