  • II - New Ratings: Pineapples & Laurels visible

The new resort recognition program in II is now visible. When you go to the exchange tab and see your list of resorts available for trading, the new symbols are visible. The silver circle with a pineapple represents the Select resorts and the gold circle with the laurel leaves represents the Premier resorts.

I couldn't get the resort directory to work to see the ratings of anything else other than the resorts I own.

I noticed that this morning when I was doing my searching.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I went to the website specifically to use the directory, and discovered it was not working. I did notice the new rating. I have one Select, a few Premier, and a couple of unrated resorts in my list of units.

My resorts are showing ratings that don't show up when I do a search for an exchange and view the resort there. It's very strange. French Lick Springs Villas does not show any rating when you do a search, but on my "my units" it shows the Premier symbol. I'm pretty certain II does not consider this a premier resort. Odd.

But u won't see the FRUIT designations - let me know what u r looking for and I will check the 'status' for u.

edit - I lied - I see the designations and I am not logged in.

                    So much for the ratings

I just checked, and it shows Cibola in Peoria, AZ as a premier resort....what a bunch of **** That place is not worthy of such a rating.

I also noticed the fruit symbols this morning. Some of mine were unrated last year and now show a symbol. The dang directory is still pretty glitchy this afternoon so they are still working on it I'm sure.

I can report that I don't see any real difference in what my individual resorts can pull now over last year even with some changes in their ratings. I'm not convinced that a pineapple is any different than a 5* or that that silver thingy is any big deal. I'm still seeing the same choices I always saw.

Dahlink, a pineapple evokes royalty, while a 5* evokes categories such as one might make for quality of a roll of toilet tissue. A laurel also evokes a crown of distinction, while stars evoke cartoon figures who just got clunked by an anvil....don't you see....

Laurels, crowns, pineapples, papayas. Sheesh (which by the way is German for ca ca) what do I care? Just so I get clean sheets that fit the bed and a sliding patio door that doesn't fall off the track and a decent barbeque that's clean I'm happy.

You just came up with a great new rating system: sheets!

1/2 sheet means the place is a dump
1 sheet means you will probably find the door works, but the sheets don't fit

My Park Plaza is now "Select," or silver/whatever. It used to be 5*. Honestly, I think it's appropriate to distinguish it from the Marriotts/Westgate in Park City -- it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but is very very comfortable and nice, and way above the "standard" resorts in the area. I do wonder what SFX will do with the new rankings in terms of resorts they will accept...
