The catch of course, is individuals can only deposit their VRI/ORE/MROP week and are subject to the different trade values that VRI has in place. Like white to red etc.\
Taking a fast look at the first VRIety exchange page it very closely resembles the Last Minute exchange page for TPI. I really can't say if that happens only 45 days out or not at this time. I don't have enough data.
Running out now....well, into the shower anyway ....so white/blue VRI/ORE/MROP owners would be better served to deposit directly into TPI where they would not have the 'restrictions' that u have with VRI....

JMHO. Yes Unless you are wanting a VRI resort.

Briefly this is in both TPI and VRIety for exchange. You don't get much further out with the indies:

Kona Coast Resort - Kailua-Kona, HI, United States
      Dates: Mar 27, 2010 - Apr 03, 2010
      Size: 1 Bedroom
      Occupancy: 4

Looking at SW Florida, VRIety has tons and TPI nothing.

All fascinating.... are any of the SW Fl resorts nice?

I need to send my deed and transfer fee into my resort, then should be able to poke around after that. I picked up a freebie for the VRI preference, which looks like I should probably use just for the Northeast alone. I guess I'll know better after my stay at Oceancliff this summer.

I'm underwhelmed by them. Supposedly they have Sanibel Beach Club, which would be worthwhile, but there is not a single unit available at anytime in VRIety.

Do you see any Sanibel in RCI?
I imagine this resort has a very high owner occupancy.

As a matter of fact Sanibel Beach Club comes up pretty often in RCI, mostly 4Q. Quite a lot in early to mid-Dec and the expected Aug/Sep hurricane weeks. Not Easter when I would go but they are there.

It is not there, not even the dregs of August/Sep, in VRIety. I of course have no historicals just todays glimpse so can't say if it is ever there. Somehow I tend to believe that owners will do what they have always done at this resort. Use it, rent it or deposit with RCI as that is what most have done for all the years they've had the units. VRIety deposits would take a distant "also-ran" position. It is not highly touted at least to this owner of Cape Winds.

Maybe JLB can answer if this is one of the older sold out places. And maybe I'll drop an e-mail to Edie as I have less time these days and we need to farm these sightings out to someone who will be consistant with it. It is a very low paying job...

If the question is whether either SBC is ever available through RCI, the answer is Yes, but not very often and not that I can see for the next two years. Very little on Sanibel is available the next two years.

If the question is whether either SBC is ever available when we would like to be there, the answer is No.

Also, this led me to the Other Vacation Destinations/Limited Availability section of the new RCI Guide, something I had not looked at.

I notice there's a lot of resorts in there for the first time, and there's resorts in there I have always seen a lot, and still do, and there are resorts in there not in the right geographical areas.

If the question is whether either SBCs are among the older, sold-out resorts that the dude from Indiana developed, the answer is Yes.

If you'll around google around a bit, you'll find a pdf file with one of the original brochures used to promote these resorts.
