  • HSI Exchange Company

I saw a post somewhere on here that was moved to another location, I have spent hours trying to find and cannot.

I am curious on people's views of HSI. I know it is marketed or was at one time thru Velas Vallarta in Mexico. It is similar to exchange company but you do not have to deposit week though think you can or you can just request a week and pay like a MF on the week to reserve it. Supposedly lowest rates on market, not sure about that. Anyway I am a member have yet to use, but have seen some good weeks at reasonable costs, similar to MF's on most units.

Can anyone give me more info, like you are meber, you have used, like, dislike, reputable etc. etc...

Hope I put this in right forum cause if it gets moved I may never find it.

I am still trying to learn this site, I am finding it a little confusing, but getting good info...so not complaining.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks but this was seen by me a few days or more ago and it stated it was moved to another location on this site, not per say taken out. I could not find it, maybe it was in that post, who knows.

Ayway my question is in regards to HSI, so hopefully I get some replies and I get more familiar with this site quickly...LOL.

No one else will be able to learn from it, why on earth remove it?

HSI is reputable and claims to be the third largest exchange company. They seem to have a lot of 'burn' weeks, last minute availability for members at cheap cost. They will also take your exchange and do 'request first' from my understanding. They own a lot of inventory with which they 'seed' the bank.

HSI has like a $30000 price tag on their site, but many Mexican resorts use them as an 'exit' program or an add-on.

It's been discussed from time to time here and there. It's not a pure exchange company, it's more like a travel club with an exchange company. Costs probably ~$2000-3000 as an 'exit' program, 'free' with purchase of affiliated timeshare.

Thanks spence, yes I got it as an add on with a purchase, but have not used as yet. No reason other than was mostly booked up with exchanges and owner weeks. Now thinking of trying out but wanted to see if any other users and their input.

They do have great burn weeks....and you say they are reputable then so I'll keep watching for replies and think I'll try them out. Thanks to you spence and to others in advance.

Aren't those travel clubs mostly just scams, charging a couple thousand to access weeks that could have been rented off of SkyAuction? Is this one any different?

Yes, I believe this one to be different. I have been to their corporate offices and had lunch and dinner with their young president. (OK the dinner was at ARDA with 2000 others). BTW they were one of the biggest ARDA 'sponsors.'

Still hoping someone has some info on HSI, like having utilized any of their services. No big loss to me as was add on more or less free so that is okay but not sure if I should use it or not...

I don't know how much more positive I can be without disclosing that I own the company.
