Aren't those travel clubs mostly just scams, charging a couple thousand to access weeks that could have been rented off of SkyAuction? Is this one any different?

Yes, I believe this one to be different. I have been to their corporate offices and had lunch and dinner with their young president. (OK the dinner was at ARDA with 2000 others). BTW they were one of the biggest ARDA 'sponsors.'

I don't know how much more positive I can be without disclosing that I own the company.

bigfrank says to trust you, if you do....well then put in some plugs why we should use it....I brought the subject up, so should be no rule against you giving info on it, right?

We had a membership for several years obtained from one of those exit packages and the only time we used them was the year we couldn't use one of our weeks. We gave them the week and they paid the MF's. I believe there was a $50 charge for this service. I think HSI would work well for someone who doesn't own any timeshares or wants extra weeks. They had some good deals but we were not able to take advantage'

Okay well there someone who actually did at least once use HSI I have a lot of timeshares but sometimes well I may have banked something and can't get what I want when I want then they may work for me, or as an extra week, just for no reason...and well maybe at some point I would use the giving them the week to pay MF, but not likely, I am pretty possessive of my vacations , also I believe can give to friends so that would work. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

just means I laid out some money to help out with expenses...I do on most sites I think I will stick with, give me a few months and I'll be emoticonning it all over this board and winning the lotto too! Been reading this site for some time, spend a lot of time on other sites including TUG. Just do not have the knack of how it all works yet, sorry

Has anyone had any other experience with HSI? I attended a presentation today and they were pushing this company. Basically said they'd pay your maintenance fees if you give them your week, or give you huge travel credits if you deposit with them. Based on the source of the information (timeshare salesperson) I didn't believe all of it, but maybe some of things are true.
