Sfx one bedroom exchange offer but..opinions please

Hi, Just want to get some others thoughts or opinions.

I deposited a Mayan Place Regency 2 bedroom with SFX, it will expire Oct. 2009.

I have many request in on it but my flexibility is not very good, as we usually do 2 week vacations at a time so I am using my exchanges to back up an owned timeshare week, thus I have not been having much luck.

I have been offered a one bedroom in Nov. in PV, the dates and place are fine but we are traveling with another couple and really wanted a 2 bedroom.

I am afraid to say no to the one bedroom and end up with nothing...but I will not be as happy with a one bedroom as a two bedroom which I did deposit. This is for Nov. 2008 in PV. My requests placed for 2009 are very specific so they probably will not get filled and I have no other openings to vacation.

What would you do? Take the one bedroom and make do, least it is not a loss, or hold out a bit longer and take chance of getting a two bedroom.( the other chance is getting nothing then though) The Nov. request was one with most flexibility.

So give me your thoughts if you would be so kind.....if it were you, what would you do????

I would not take a 1 Bdr especially with another couple. I'm surprised they can't come up with a 2 Bdr for Nov unless it's Thanksgiving week.

I would not accept a 1 BR for a 2 BR deposit. If it is other than the actual week of Thanksgiving, you should have no trouble, assuming your deposit is sufficiently powerful to pull quality at a PV resort (I know nothing of Mexico). SFX has many contacts in Mexico, so your chances would seem best with them.

Do they have a rule about trading BACK into a MP resort using a MP deposit?

Because they should easily be able to get you a 2BR MP or GM for November...

I guess they must have cause they did not offer me that. I have not had good luck with them, so we'll see what happens. I have not heard back from them as yet anyway on the one bedroom, so who knows what that means.

I know they told me I was inflexible with my dates making them incorrect requests or something.....oh well not everyone has flexibility.

I'll let you all know what occurs, I just sent another email asking if they indeed did receive my email regarding the one bedroom.....

No, I gave them almost the whole month of November....I should probably hold out...from what I am reading...

They can only find what someone else has deposited. Although at times, they can get excess stock from some resorts or other exchange companies.

Nov. isn't that busy a month for travel so you find it worthwhile to wait and take your chances.

Well I caved....I took the one bedroom.....they say if an available 2 bedroom comes up then they will contact me....just figured better to get something than nothing....and well it is just a throw in vacation for me....#11 in 2008, see what happens on the 2 bedroom, probably nothing but I'll make the one bedroom work and If I regret my decision after well then maybe I'll just book a back to back week and make it two weeks LOL.

Getting tired of waiting, planning etc....already have all but 2 weeks in 2009 booked for a total of 12 weeks vacation I think..this is becoming a full time job....I think I need to learn how to rent out some....LOL
