There are so many places in Europe that I want to see and it would be soooo much cheaper! But everyone says I'm crazy and that New York is a "must see". So we've thought about going down the route of making it a mega trip and going somewhere else for an add-on week but the costs are getting prohibitive...

I just don't know what to do I'd really like to see Rome and go to Venice again and then there's the whole of Eastern Europe where I haven't been at all yet...
You already have the exchange. I'd say Do It because it's already scheduled. Consider it a Rare Splurge.

I would say do it, too. New York is one of the great cities, and it's one of those "if not now, when?" situations. The accommodations will be inexpensive, and everything else will seem soooooo cheap to you!

It's really just the airfare that is the killer, and that's just the way the world is. We'll probably look back five years from now and go, wow, airfare was so cheap in 2008, why didn't we fly more???

So I think you should do it.

...and of course I wouldn't want to miss the TS4MS get-together (that is still going to happen isn't it?)

So does this mean, that my massanutten weeks will suddenly have great trading powers?

Only if they are very big units and you convert them to points.
