I just recieved a phone call from an II "person" in regards to my pending request to stay on property at DW...He tried to get me to take a trade for a resort I can always see when I do a search. I told him no that I would make a final decision in Dec...going on some advice from Angela and Grayfal. He said I didn't make sense and that Disney resorts were mainly traded amongst DVC owners... the likely hood of me getting one was a long shot! Please tell me he was wrong.... getting worried.I posted several months ago...see my other posts..

SOP. They have tons of crap weeks - the majority of what II gets - and will bug you unmercifully to take one off their hands. They will seldom call with anything close to what you requested - not the dates, size or resort. You're lucky if they are even in the same area. If you deal with II as an individual paying member, not utilizing request first, it's all you can expect.

II automatically dials members with ongoing requests and tries to talk them into taking something else rather than leave the search open.

What exact dates are you looking for and what size unit? If in December a Christmas or New Years 2 bedroom would IMHO be very hard and almost impossible. When did you start your search?

II automatically dials members with ongoing requests

I've had several ongoing DVC requests. I don't think they've ever called me with a non-Disney resort. They have called with smaller units, or off-by-one dates, but not other resorts.

SirSly: have you verified that you can see DVC units of the size you need more than 59 days in advance? You can check by doing your own manual searches in the morning---you can use the unit that is performing your search without losing your place in line.

I have tried, and I haven't seen anything in DVC resorts. I do see everything around..even 3 bedroom units and I'm searching 4 a 2 bdrm.

The time frame I am searching for is last week of May '09 to 2nd week of August '09...
I have 4 DVC's selected for the same time frames

I'm trading a 2 bdrm floating wk (I got wk #17)..trading power seems 2 b avg.

I put my request in I believe last week of may '08.

when I run a search from sept.'08 to sept. '09 I pull several DVC units all within 30 days of todays date. I guess I can start making back up reservations and cancell if I get something...

I used to get calls from II on a regular basis offering me non-DVC resorts in place of the specific Disney resorts I was searching for. A couple months back they called me 5 days in a row! I ended up removing my phone number from my II account so they couldn't call me anymore.

Then you don't have sufficient trade power outside of flexchange. Right now, there are several units more than 60 days out.

I agree, there is a trade power issue. There is plenty to see more than 60 days out.

I agree there are plenty of units to see outside of flex. I posted this am to sightings and listed quite a few 2 bedrooms coming up and one is in 2009.

If you have to wait until flex to get a DVC unit you will be lucky to get a 1 bedroom next summer but it is possible. I never saw a 2 bedroom come up last year during flex over the summer.

If you are willing to settle for a 1 bedroom at DVC over the summer. I think it's possible if you wake up early and check II 60 days out from your first check in date. I only saw a couple of 1 bedrooms come up this past summer in flex. so it could be a gamble but possible. The last week of May might be your best shot at a 1 bedroom. I never saw anything in June, but I saw a few in July and more in August but especially last August.

By the way...When you get up to 30 post.. you now have 21... you will be able to view a board called Interval Exchange Opportunities and you will be able to see the sightings posted daily by members here and what we see with our units exchanging.

When you reach your 30 post the next day you will be able to view the sightings board!

The next time II calls you - ask to be put on the do not call for 30 (90) days list unless they have a match .... and they won't call you.

When you do this search, are u leaving the 'default settings' on 'adult 1, child 0' ? I know u want a 2BR but the reality is that few are seen online - they are snatched up with ongoing seaches.....

This is what I see NOW - in order to compare, please do a search around 7-7:30 and post results here.....and to see The Villas at Wilderness Lodge - u have to look alphabetically under "T".
Your most likely match will be Old Key West and Saratoga Springs.

These were seen at 7:40 a.m. eastern using a 2BR good trader searching 9/08 to 9/09....what do u see?
I will search again tomorrow morning and post my results here for you....please search around the same time...these results change constantly so searching in 2 hours will not get the same results.

If you STILL can only see units (all sizes) within 30 days - it could be a problem as others have indicated above.
But I seem to recall that you WERE seeing similar results as I posted above which is why Angela and I encouraged you to to put in your ongoing search.
