Which Independent Exchange Companies have you used and what was your experience?

I have used TPI quite a few times and have been very pleased with them.

we have used

TPI, HTSE, SFX, Redweeks-DAE.
Each has their own special areas where they are great.

I have had good luck with DAE and TPI. No luck at all with SFX. They just don't accommodate my style of searching. I don't like just putting my trade in their hands and then just sitting and waiting. I want to see inventory--even if it's nothing I am interested in. Plus, I don't want to go to Hawaii, so they have limited appeal for me.

I would still like to do more exchanges directly with other owners, but people are just afraid, I guess.

We've used TPI, HTSE, and SFX. Between those companies and the min-systems we've acquired, we have virtually no reason to use II or RCI.

I've used TPI, pretty good luck. I have also used SFX, but like another poster I like to see more online and also I find I do not seem to have that good luck with them...either I am not too flexible or they give me a smaller unit than I deposited etc....My flexibility is pretty slim I do have to say, but still. I have also tried HSI, but nothing has fit right yet, but they do seem to respond very timely via email, which is my choice of dealings since I am out of country! I of course also use II and RCI, nothing yet with II but lots with RCI, though they sure have changed in the 18 years I have used them..LOL.

I have only had exchanges thru RCI. Last year I deposited 2 weeks with SFX - but am still waiting on an exchange. My work schedule is the same as school schedules and I live on the east coast so I do not think they are going to be a good choice for me. I do not know if they will be able to make an exchange for me or not due to the factors involved.

Which company is HSI?

Holiday Systems International. It was at a cost when we upgraded a timeshare resale purchase...It has a yearly fee, and think it might be kind of hefty in cost to join, unless you get it along with a timeshare or buy into it.

Kind of like a company where you can book timeshares for close to MF's but not actually own the timeshare along with many other benefits, although I have yet to really use it. I was offered some units while searching some specific times, but they just did not fit timing or place right, so had to pass. I hope to get some use out of it in a future date...

I think there have been post n here before in regards to them, so you may want to do a search...

I am kind of pressed for time at this moment or I would provide more info but son, & hubby arriving from states this week and packing for vacation and just had dental work and dealing with a dogs surgery as well and trying to tie all this up before vacation....

DAE - They have been great for Europe, in particular, but have also gotten me some very specific requests in Cayman Islands and Phillipines for honeymoons for relatives.
