One day I plan on going there. If I am not mistaken I had done some home work a few years back. Graceland is on the opposite end of where the grand Ole op-re is. So a car is a must if you want to see it all.

You'll love Nashville, but Graceland is in Memphis. Quite a drive!

We just returned from a visit to Wyndham at Nashville.

You'll be very close to the Opryland Mills Mall. At the mall you'll see a "Gibson Showcase", which I assumed was a retail store for Gibson guitars. It isn't. Once I got home, I learned that it's a manufacturing facility where they make custom guitars and ship them all over the world. You can tour the facility and watch them make the custom guitars. I wish I had known that while we were there.

I know what to expect as Kelli & I have stayed there b4 and that's why we are so excited!! Kelli is the biggest country music fan that I know and loves getting autographs and pics. I have seen her stand in line for 5 hrs to get a certain autograph.

Frank, Graceland is a fer piece to go see Elvis. I'd love to go tho.

              Enjoy your stay in Nashville

Not sure how long it's been since you have been to Nashville but we have quite a few new places you can enjoy.

There is a new Country Music Hall of Fame (built about 4 years),
a new Symphony Hall which is beautiful, although I am sure you would want to listen to classical music, but we are proud to have one.

The Frist Art center is great if you like art and the parthenon has been re-done at Centinnial Park. Not sure what time of the year you are visiting but we also have the Nashville Predators and Titans!

Enjoy your stay and if you have any questions, let me know. Nashville is a great place to visit and live as we have almost everything you could want. If you come in the summer, enjoy the two wonderful lakes, or enjoy a ride on the General Jackson on the cumberland river.

                Memphis vs Nashville

Graceland is in Memphis, Grand Ole Opry is in Nashville. Three hour drive, city to city, but Graceland is on the far west side of Memphis, so add about 30 minutes or so for getting out of Nashville and through Memphis.
Memphis is on the mighty Missippi, and if you get that far west, be sure to tour Mud Islandf where a working Corps of Engineers model of the Mississippi can be seen.

If you want something different to do, you and Kelli might enjoy this "tour":

                  Welcome to NashTrash Tours!

It is just humorous fun, don't expect to do much sightseeing.

Nash Trash is definitly on our list. I missed it the last time. You are going to think I"m nuts, but I loved the cemetery tour (where the famous are buried) Johnny Cash's sister was supposed to have led the tour but Johnny had just died 3 weeks earlier. Gil (from Tootsies) did it and he got lost in the graveyard!! It was the first time he'd done it in quite awhile so had to call in and find out where to go. I thought it was rather amuzing, ( I was the only one) Gil said that sometimes Lorrie Morgan would go to Keith Whitleys grave (her late husband) and talk to him and leave him a half smoked cigarette and when we got there , there was a half smoked cig, sorta brought cold chills. shaggy

Of course, the Fairham Nashville is the site of DW's Girls' Week Out each summer. Her sister is DOOGOO. (Director Of Operations Grand Ole Opry).
