I go into the DAE on-line search database probably about twice a week.

Today I log in and there are tons of resorts crossed off with a big red SOLD next to them. Some of the Gold Advantage things in the US are pretty odd to me. WM Galena studio in March anyone?

But here is the kicker. I'll use Caribbean All of 2009 as an example, because it is small and because I definately look there to exchange my CAPE COD SUMMER 2008 week I gave them back in March of 2008.... few nice things there that haven't been there with SOLD next to them....I am only grateful nothing was for my dates and location.

We'll see if they ever get another of my weeks.

Someone wake up Carolinian I want to hear his view on this...
Yeah, I saw all this last night for the first time. The "SOLD" signs really bothered me. Is that supposed to be "look what you COULD have had?"

There are two local resorts I watch for in DAE. I know they deposit almost exclusively with them. I don't see but one week for one of them and a lot less than usual for the other.

    Makes me too.

The one resort I knew I could always get with DAE, Rancho Manana is shut down now so I don't know whether I'll bother using them again. Not a good time to be adding a membership fee.

What exactly does "SOLD" mean anyway? It's an exchange, yes? So why "sold"? I don't think they mean they sold it to someone else, as we suspect RCI does, but rather that it has been confirmed/booked/exchanged by other members.

Also, will they be raising the exchange fee and bonus wks fees to recoup the discount that they'll give to gold members?

When I search I get 3 different kinds of line listing. Either SOLD, GOLD ADVANTAGE highlighted, or the usual plain white line listing. Can anyone else "see" the Gold Advantage listings too?
