I am a frequent visitor to Puerto Vallarta in July since the late 90's having spent many years at the Mayan Palace in NV, Sheraton Buganvillas with RCI and Paradise Village with Interval International.
Getting two bedroom units and multiple units at the same resort same week has become a difficult task for me as I usually try and get enough units to hold around 15 people because my wifes family lives about 4 hours from PV in Guadalajara.
I have had two ongoing searches for PV for this July with two 2 bedroom units since Dec with no luck. and got a call from a very new VC . Heres what happened. There were about 10 studio units for 4 available for July 13 at the Playa Del Sol in NV. Queeen bed and full sofa and I was able to use one two bedroom unit for one studio and get two additional studios for the exchange fees per two bedroom unit so in total I got 6 studios for an additional 579 dollars .
I had no idea that per 2 bedroom units II will give you 3 studios if available the same week so consider this a viable option. The studio units I believe go for 475 on the getaways.
Remember this resort is about 2 years old and still expanding. I mentioned that sometimes you can get exchanges at new resorts and affiliates because of these developer weeks and my good buddy Tony G chimed in. So remember always explore options for excvhange requests especially with II and understand that many of these deposits happen in the early part of the year Jan - March.
