That's still low, but as you and L suggest, if you can get what you want, what you can't get doesn't matter.

I remember way back when we were new to this, when all TS owners were kept totally in the dark (as opposed to just being misled). We got stuff that I now know was bottom-of-the-barrel, but we were just fine with it.

It was when we got educated that we learned what others were getting, and what we were missing.

Now, in recent years, things are reverting.

Well actually today when I went on RCI.com my available units came up as 90,000. My unit is #43 in Mass Woodstone Gold crown. It was deposited more than 12 m out and the travel dates are through Oct. 2011. Surpringly I am getting some decent matches from my ongoing search, but not the RIGHT one yet!

There is still that 14 day window where all bets are off and anything will get anything. It will depend on the nerves of the OP and what cancellations show up. I've seen some outrageous stuff happen with on-going searches.

Of course, a way to reduce that nerves problem is to take a lesser resort, but keep searching. Then switch to a better one if one appears.

We've done that a few times . . . In fact our recent humongous unit at Lighthouse on Sanibel was a switch. A year ago, our wonderful unit at Bel Air Beach Club was a double switch.

Our first switches were way back in '99. We had the lesser Makai Club on Kauai for 2 weeks and switched to Lawai Beach Resort and what was then Embassy at Poipu, from 1-bedroom units nice 2-bedroom units, within 7 days before our first check-in.
