  • Any A.I. Resorts in Florida or Southeast U.S.?

Was recently asked this question and I could not answer it.

    Wanted:
    • Timeshare 1BR week.
    • Prefer an All-Inclusive Resort w/meals and water sports.
    • At least a good Meal Plan available, which may be pre-purchased.
    • Located on the southeast U.S. coast, including Florida.
    • Nearby (walking distance) access to a nice beach
    • Preferably nearby watersports and spa services, but not required.

    NOT wanted:
    • Definitely not interested in a traditional, large cruise ship (Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, etc).
    • Definitely do not want to fly - need to drive there from NC.

Disney/DVC resorts in central FL offer a dining plan but WDW is not near the beach and besides, they've vacationed at Disney and they're really not that into this idea. The AI resorts in Mexico or Caribbean would require a flight. Are there any Windjammer-type cruises that depart from FL? What about timeshares connected to a large spa or mega-hotel that offers a meal plan? Any other ideas??? TIA!

Op specified timeshare, which any Club Med facility most assuredly is not.

Thanks for the thought, though. Any other ideas?

          Tough request.

II only shows one all inclusive resort in U.S.
          Villas at Flying L (FLY)
          566 Flying L Drive
          Bandera, TX 78003

          In RCI, I found three:
          Salmon Falls Resort (#A885)
          Ketchikan
          AK, 99901 USA

However, the other two may be mis-tagged, as there is no information on their website about all-inclusive:

Historic Crags Lodge @ Golden Eagle (#1617)
          Estes Park
          CO, 80517 USA

          The Colony (#0015)
          Virginia Beach
          VA, 23451 USA

There's also at least one fish camp timeshare in Canada that requires AI

How about driving to Fort Lauderdale and then taking the Discovery cruise ship (more like a ferry) to Bahamas and staying at an all inclusive there. You can use the Discovery cruise as a "taxi" to the Bahamas. discoverycruiseline.com You can leave your car at the port. I think you can just buy passage and not the package. Just a thought. I've thought of doing this since I live in Miami.

That one sounds interesting to me. I like to fish, like to eat. That could be one to look into. Any names for resorts?

I know this is old but....

I am posting on this thread, to see if any of the posters have actually ever been here? It is often on BlueGreen's "HotWeeks". I have considered going because I have some saved points expiring August 31st but not sure about the AI portion.
