  • Napa Valley Exchange Question

Anyone have any idea on how difficult it is to find a unit for Napa Valley the last week of March? I took a look and notice there are only two timeshares there, SVC at Vino Bello and Diamond Resorts - RiverPoint Napa Valley.

When would someone look? Is it better to try to do a direct exchange?

Riverpointe is a fairly easy trade through II, though I'm not sure when the March weeks are sighted. SVC/Vino Bello is much tougher. I think it trades through RCI. I see that II has Jan and Feb, then nothing til December. Did you check the sightings to see if they were already deposited and gone? The week of 3/29 next year is a holiday week, that may make it harder. You might be able to swing a "promo" tour at SVC, or maybe a direct exchange...

eta: I checked the sightings, I didn't see that week sighted in past years for Riverpointe. But it doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't there, the weeks used to sit a while, and there was some controversy about the "trailer" type structure of the units, so I don't know if it was on the daily hit list for sightings, but Angela might have a better idea. An ongoing search couldn't hurt, in any event.

WorldMark Windsor resort is about an hour away. If you are going for the wineries, there are a lot of them around the WorldMark resort as well.

Living only about an hour east of Napa, I have gone and stayed at the RiverPointe, once, and that will be the last time. They are little tiny trailers, that move when you walk on the floor.

We did an exchange into Riverpointe through SFX. We will be there in August. We will avoid the mountain pass at all costs to save my stomach. Maybe sea bands would help.

Last time we were out west (in 2001-22 wineries in 7 days), we stayed in Santa Rosa (nearest to Sonoma) at the Extended Stay America. While not as nice as a timeshare, we did have a small kitchen, desk, okay bed and laundry on site. There is also one at Fairfield, which according to their info is only 13 miles from Napa.

          Trading Places manages Riverpointe.

          SVC is next to impossible.

WM Windsor has good availability I would not expect March to be a problem.

I think that it's a pretty easy exchange in II.......The weeks do sit, and are not posted for the exact reason that you mention. Not to say that it's not a very nice place. I can see them with my Marriott, so the quality must be decent enough.

This is what I can currently see in II......

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I didn't know TPI managed Riverpointe! Sounds like the best bet. At least if you call them, you'll get an honest assessment of how/when they get inventory and what the chances are for your week.
