  • sightings using SDO 1BR (smaller)

I was just wondering if someone could please post what a 1BR (smaller) sheraton desert oasis would see as possible exchange. I mean sightings using SDO 1BR.
I hope I am making myself clear.

    Thank you!

I don't own at SDO but at SBP Sheraton Broadway Plantation and previously at Sheraton PGA.

As long as u reserve and deposit a week in February/March in II, you will get GREAT trades.
You will be able to get 2BRs at other Starwood/Westin Resorts.

It does not matter if you deposit a large or small 1BR - it will be a very good trader Starwood to Starwood enjoying the 3 day preference period.

Yup, I agree......Get a good week to trade, deposit early, and take advantage of the SVO preference.

BTW, SVO does bulk bankings in II, so if you keep your eyes open, you can grab some great exchanges.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

BUT - as a resale owner - YOU can reserve a good week and deposit it yourself in II - really ensuring great trades.

Members that have a Starwood Vacation Network (SVN) ownership do not get to choose what is deposited for them so can have less then great weeks put in their II account (think summer dessert!) ....and then they are unhappy with their II trades and only use their StarOptions to do internal trades with SVN....pretty clever of SVN, huh!

          SDO or SBP?

I am looking at this 2 resort. Which one will have the greater trading power?
I am looking to trade if I buy one.

Trading power is all about demand....You would get your best trading from either resort with the highest demand week in platinum season.

You need to purchase platinum season with either resort, and then call a year in advance, and request the highest demand week in platinum season to deposit into II. If you can not get the highest demand week, you try for the 2nd, and then the 3rd, etc.

You need to be a little more careful when purchasing platinum season with SDO. If I'm not mistaken, they offer different options.....I think you can purchase weeks 1 - 52, as well as just winter weeks. You would want to purchase platinum season that only included winter weeks. Then, you would want to get a Feb, or March week.....I am not positive what the exact weeks are during winter platinum. Could be Xmas - April?

March would have the highest demand weeks in the season, followed by Feb.

With SBP.....you would want any week from wk 22 - 30.

            Good luck!

              Thanks Angela!

We are actually just looking Platinum season in both resorts. The reason why I'm asking is that I wanted to know which one of the resort ( SDO or SBP )will pull out better resorts when deposited at their highest demand weeks.

You would get the SVO preference with either, and as long as you can deposit a high demand week, the trading power should be about the same.

We own both. bright red time (as Angela indicated) trades very well and the same for both. This applies to both trading for other Starwood results during the preference period as well as for non-Starwood resorts (ie. hotel brand name TS and independents). You won't go wrong with either one. I would add that buy the one that you would also consider going to for those years where you don't exchange.

                    Thanks for all your input.

I'm torn between the 2 resorts right now. I am trying to shop for the best price out there. SBP is closer (16 hr drive ) to us but there are more SDO weeks for sale that are cheaper. We are looking at EOY Odd years.

If you're wanting EOY and 1BR, then you're on the right track with SDO. I haven't seen as many SBP that fit your parameters. Just make sure you don't pay too much for that SDO. I've seen the EOYs go right now for the same price as some annuals. You shouldn't pay more than $150 + closing costs.

What do you think is a fair offer for 2BR LO Eoy?

                          I'm seeing prices ranging from a low of $770 - $1800 (SDO)
