Not impressed with Desert Isle of Palm Springs

We just got back from a week there in a one bedroom which was comfortable inside. Pictures make it look like it has a big beautiful pool but instead it has a few smaller pools. At check-in (very nice people at desk) we were told to use our cell phone because any calls cost .75 to get hooked up. Well, we don't carry cell phones because we spend much of our day at work on the phone and here we are on vacation.
BBQ on deck but you must pay$5 to get propane tank for them.
Come on, give me a break. We traded a 2 bedroom Lawrence Welk for this. I wouldn't even call it gold crown though RCI does. Game room was a outdoor ping pong table.

I have been amazed at the quality of the pictures of resorts in the RCI and II books. Resorts must have spent a bundle on them to get the right shots and the right angles. Really a work of Art and now with Digital camera, what the photographer can't do the computer operator can.
