  • Any get a good caribbean trade with SFX?

We'll be looking for a nice 2 bedroom in the Caribbean for summer of 2011 to celebrate my son's college graduation.

I don't have much hope with II and RCI trades have really diminished for me.

Anyone get Caribbean trades with SFX?

    Thanks for the help.

    Anne

I know they get Morritts in Grand Cayman and if you need a 2BR that will probably be your best bet.

They also get some stuff in the Dominican Republic, however, the Dominican is not MY cup of tea.

Hi Anne - Sint Maarten, Cayman, Aruba, St. Lucia, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica are the more popular islands. Others can also be requested. If you need more information, we will be delighted to have one of our agents assist you.

          Thanks,

Well, we've been to Morritt's (just came back and loved it), been to Aruba, been to Cancun, not interested in Dominican Republic.

We would love Jamaica. Anyone here get a trade through SFX there?

Mark didn't mention it - and I believe there are very few TSs there.

St Thomas and St Marten would be good areas to try - there are several TS there that have 2BRs.

Anne - Grayfal is correct about Jamaica... there are about 4 or 5 very average quality properties, and one Gold Crown. (Sandals). However this property was not built as a timeshare. There are a handful of units at the resort that were in a timeshare program called Club Ciboney. It is my understanding when the developer of those units was no longer involved... Sandals absorbed the properties into the main project and allowed the continuance of the few timeshare units. Bottom line... huge demand, tiny supply thus difficult to trade in.

St. Thomas there really are not any quality timeshare resorts. Unfortunately the Caribbean in general has seen very limited, almost non-growth new timeshare resorts in the last 10-20 years. Most of what is there are older properties, many of which have very deferred maintenance issues. Point being... there are not many great choices of properties industry wide in that region. Therefore location seems to be the higher consideration for the vacation experience more so than the property.

                  Hope this helps...

                  Thanks,

Mark, Marriott's Frenchman's Cove: St. Thomas - that is why I mentioned it.

We toured the property a few years ago - just spectacular.

Marriott also is in St Kitts - Marriott's St. Kitts Beach Club: For a memorable vacation in Frigate Bay

I just don't know if SFX gets many deposits
