  • Resort on Cocoa Beach is it too late to bank?

Hello timesharing friends! Would like to ask those of you who know timesharing whether it is too late to bank a timeshare at the Resort on Cocoa Beach (1 1/2 hr to Disney, close to the Kennedy Center) I booked for the week of March 14th, which is our local school spring break.

Booked that week for trade or in case my nieces wanted to go during their break but it is not looking too good schedule wise.

Does it hurt if you make your deposit late into the RCI as far as trading power? Just wondering if I should go ahead and put this on Craigs List, Redweek, or post it at the local YMCA so that I can rent it out for my MF of around $800. This is a 2 bedrooms, 2 bath unit on the beach.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas!

The Resort on Cocoa Beach is also with Interval International and week 11 is a high demand Spring Break week,
Even thought it is only 3 months until check-in, this resort and this time of year will still have very good trading power with II - if I had a choice between depositing in II or RCI, I would pick II.

What I am trying to say, is that RCI has much harsher penalties (decreased trade power) then II does for a late deposit.

Here is the current trading power grid for II and your resort. As u can see, week 11 has a high demand and u will be rewarded accordingly with good trading power.

Maybe an RCI person will answer as well.

RCI has really dropped trading power for deposits under a year out, based on my last experience, so an RCI deposit would be my last choice . II would be a better choice- just like Pat said.

Thanks everyone. The only problem is, I am not a member of II. How do you join and how much? I have a free RCI account since I have Wyndham points but it looks like it might be worth joining II.

Forgot to add I have a small amount of points with Shell and also a timeshare on Vero beach that trades very well through RCI. Resort on Cocoa Beach does not allow you to deposit until we make our MF payment so that is another reason being late on making my deposit. You two have me very interested in joining II.

I belong to both RCI and II and have enjoyed better trades with II that I have with RCI with most of my units. You could also try the VRI exchange. I have joined it, and deposited a week, but haven't exchange, yet.

I understand that u have a FREE RCI account which is a great thing so having to pay for an II account is not a bad thing.
Go to Interval International | Resort, Timeshare, Exchange, Getaways, Vacation to check it out and join
The cost is approximately $84 per year - if u take a 3 year deal it will be a bit less.
As far as depositing after u pay your MFs, some of my resorts require I do this so I just pay my fees early so that I can deposit.

Call your resort/management company to see if they are running a special to join II....if they are - ask them if there is a code.
Or when you call II, ask if there is a special for your resort.

I too have gotten much better trades with II then RCI with good traders. You are able to search with with II to see what u can get before you deposit.
