  • Can I rent out my RCI exchange week

I am confused. I had to put my leftover Wyndham points into RCI. I see on Redweek.com that I can list RCI exchanges. Can anyone qualify that? The people at Wyndham said that I can rent it out. Is it just Redweek.com rules? Please clarify this for me.

    Thanks!

If I understand correctly, you can rent out your unit, but not an exchange...points people, is this right?

Renting an RCI exchange is verboten. If they catch you they will suspend your account. If you had just reserved a week with your points thru Wyndham as an owner you are permitted to rent it but be prepared for the $99 guest cert fee.

edit - cy - why not post a link to where u see this on redweek - maybe we can clarify it for you.

So, I have to use it for myself. What is the best way to go about booking something? From what I understan if I pay the exchange fee up front I have a better chance of getting into the place that I want. Is that correct?

Or you can guest a friend but no reimbursement other than the exchange fee and guest cert. That's allowed.

Where and when do you want to go?

We have continuous long, drawn out discussions on whether an on-going search does better than something you check for yourself on-line. My personal feelings are it's best to have both.

If you can say what you specifically are looking for I'll keep an eye out for it on the RCI Ex-Op board.

Wyndham's points deposits are usually not 'visible' in your RCI online account - u have to call RCI to search for you.
In this case, I think it might/could be better to decide where and when u want to go and put in a search.
My Wyndham points are with II so I don't know how they trade in RCI.
