    Wrong.

There are many sold-out SW FL resorts with reasonable Prime (Snowbird) weeks. I reviewed one a couple weeks ago with $1000 weeks.

Prices are real market with no developer hype.

We just bought a week 51 at Mountainside Resort at Stowe. Week 51 will include Christmas day, not always, but quite a lot of the time. (in 2010, it means checking OUT on Christmas, but that's ok with us.)

Isn't this a prime week, in a seasonal resort? Skiing conditions then should be great, and spending Christmas in Stowe, which is a wonderful area, seems so nice.

We paid $1 on Ebay. But, I am also interested in selling it for "top dollar" too!

For anyone unfamiliar with timeshares, this is undoubtedly just another scam by some scumbags to cheat people out of their money. Either they will charge an upfront fee and never sell your week or will be looking for a fee for an appraisal or some other phony reason. The likelihood of this actually being an outfit that will really pay top dollar for timeshares is non-existent. Anyone who subsequently posts otherwise will be a rather new poster, shilling for this outfit.

How I wish that statement was true. I do own a prime week at a seasonal resort and it has been rented out and exchanged in the past. Nonetheless there are good weeks for sale at the resort which elicit no interest whatever even when the vendor is prepared to pick up all the transfer costs.
What's killed the market? Over inflated management fees!! When I purchased my unit I could rent it out for about 5x the management fee, now it would be for about 3/4 of the management fee. Why would anybody want to buy now when the sums simply don't add up?

Because the sales weasels tell a false story, and the peeps figure they couldn't say it if it wasn't true.

It takes far longer than the cancellation period to find out the truth, and no one seems to be willing to take on misrepresentation cases. After all, there is that line in the pages of fine print saying not to rely on verbal statements.

I was in commissioned sales for ten years, but I have to say that it encourages deception.

But it is not as upsetting as folks panhandling you in the streets.
