Weeks 51 and 52 are usually pretty good weeks--at least where skiing or beaching are involved.

Yeah, fur shur, in places like Vail, Beaver Creek, Tahoe, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Aspen (ask Charlie Sheen), Park City . . .

I'm not convinced that my week sucks. I think that Christmas week at a world-famous ski resort is A PRIME WEEK.

We stayed at Mountainside during Spring Break in 2008 on a last-minute points exchange through RCI. We had a great time, there was quite a bit of snow that week, so the skiing was excellent.

That said, Mountainside is very...plain. And it's not on the mountainside. It's a good 20+ minute drive to get to the Stowe Mountain ski resort, depending on the weather.

In Stowe, the two weeks that are truly prime are 52 and 7, according to II's demand index (Mountainside trades through both II and RCI, as a standard resort in both), rating a +10. Weeks 5 and 8 are +5, and weeks 51 and 6 are +3.

Your week doesn't suck, nor is it a truly prime week at a truly prime resort. So what? You got it at a great price, and all that doesn't matter if you're planning to use the week, and will enjoy it. Stowe is a classic quaint Vermont town, the skiing is great, and the rooms are spacious. I'm sure you'll be happy.
