  • To Buy or Not to Buy

I am wondering what is smart to do. I know you can buy timeshares right now for pennies. People are even giving them away. Right now I have more points than I can use. Mostly because I still have children at home who play sports all year long and I'm not free to get away. There will be a time when I will probably use all the points I have. Is it smart to buy more points right now and have all of those points I can't use. Timeshares are just so cheap. I feel like I should buy a few more but I would have all those maintance fees to pay.

If I have those later on, I will be able to let my kids take vacations with them or rent them out.

What is your advice. Should I buy while things are so cheap?

You might add up the cost of the maintenance fees for the years until your children are grown and see whether that is a cost you want to carry while you can't use the timeshares.

Timeshares will always be available for pennies on the dollar if you buy re-sale.

So, you think in five years or so, I can still buy timeshares as cheap as I can get them now or even for FREE?

Ebay always has some free timeshares. As long as there are people who change their travel style, there will be people who have timeshares they no longer want to pay main. fees on. Even before this economic mess started, there were free (or practically free) timeshares on Ebay.
