With RCI Weeks--once you've grabbed something and put it on hold or confirmed it...you can't search against that week anymore!

In Points, if you still have points, you can still keep searching. Someone who knows Points better will chime in, but here's what I think...if you have points until you get to that 45-day window, and THEN something appears, you can grab it with your 9,000 points and then dump the "something good" you confirmed back in February. You'll lose your exchange fee, but for the right 9,000-point exchange, it might be worth it. Points people, does it work this way? And do you need to take insurance on your February exchange, or do those points go back to being the same points they were in February?

That is not all that different than continuing to search in Weeks, then switching an exchange in the 14-Day Window (the 45-Day Window being a thing of the past). Except, it takes a full deposit, not just 9000 points worth of a full deposit.

We got our second week in FL last month in the 14-Day Window and the last two Januarys we have switched one of our weeks from other exchanges, one of them twice (3 exchange fees). When you have beaucoup $$$ wrapped up in a vacation, another exchange fee is rather insignificant to upgrade from a dump to a nice place.
