State sues time-share resale corp. - Business
The lawsuit, filed against ResalesBuyOwner.Com, states the company engaged in a systematic pattern of deceptions by inducing customers to pay up front for resales services that were never provided. The state received 96 complaints about Resales Buy Owner.com, Inc. The complaints include information that the company charged consumers an up-front fee for timeshare resale services that were never provided. The lawsuit said the company would indicate it either had a buyer or renter interested in the time share and there would be no problem renting or selling it within 90 to 120 days. But instead, the lawsuit states, the company merely advertised the property listings, if taking any action at all, and charged consumer credit cards even after they opted not to do business with the firm...................
