  • Buying a resale

Hello all - new to the forum. I have owned timeshares in the past. I owned Hyatt Beach House in Key West and still own Disney beach club villas. I plan on purchasing a resale and looking on ebay - its almost to good to be true. For example - what is wrong with this offer?

78,000 POINTS @ WYNDHAM OCEAN WALK RESORT, TIMESHARE - eBay (item 290420645124 end time Apr-06-10 18:00:44 PDT)

I'm starting to wonder what is the point of owning another Hyatt resort when i can get something like this and trade through RCI? I'm very green so thanks for any input.

    Hi Steve,

The package you see on eBay is a very small package. It requires 203,000 Wyndham points for 1 week in a 2br unit for the summer at Ocean Walk. If you purchase this week, 78000 points will only allow you a few days in such a unit.

Wyndham points, Hyatt points and Disney points all work on different scales. So, you can't compare them to each other by their point values alone. You have to determine a scaling factor between them. A bit like Indonesian Rupiah to Dollar.
