  • Do you ever plan your TS vacation around a sporting event?

....and if so, what event, and which timeshare do you prefer?
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Not yet but I think it will happen. I considered exchanging into one of the Hyatt hotels that RCI added recently to watch the Eagles play on the road. Unfortunately, it seems that RCI does not offer any of the Hyatts within 45 days and if I'm only staying for the time it takes to see the game, 50K or more points for that is not cost effective.

I also am looking into staying at the Gaslamp when the Phillies are in San Diego. I've tried for two years but my schedule and the Phils schedule has not matched up well for that.

I did my last trip around the Daytona 500. I stayed in Village on the Parkway in Orlando and drove to the 500. Would have liked to stay in Daytona but that didn't work out. shaggy

Yes. I've planned three trips to Eire and England for the Ryder Cup using my timeshare in London and exchanging for Knocktopher Abbey in Ireland for the 2006 K Club Ryder Cup. It took some train travel, but it was worth it.

          No.

Although I have thought about vacationing in AZ during spring training and to watch a few games we haven't done any TS vacation related to a sporting event.

We've reserved a week at Pacific Grove Plaza for the US Open in June played at Pebble Beach this year. We also traded into Grand Pacific Palisades in 2008 for the same event played at Torrey Pines.

We have used the NFL Pro Bowl "excuse" twice to go to Honolulu and we stayed both times at the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk.

We also have taken TS trips to Phoenix and San Diego to watch the Packers play football.

Hoping to go stay in Door County Wisconsin to attend another game in Lambeau Field.

We went to the Westin in Scottsdale in March for Spring Training this year but the games were rained out most of the week so we didn't end up seeing our favorite teams. Bummer. We have 2 weeks in Palm Desert booked next January for the Bob Hope Golf Classic. Hope the weather is better than it was this year!
