  • Daily Maid service at timeshares

Before owning a timeshare I would never have considered a vacation at a resort where there is no daily maid service. I am amazed at how many people actually feel that they prefer not to have daily maid service.

I don't want this to be a thread of whether or not daily maid service is important just would like to get a list of resorts that have daily maid service since that is what I prefer. Some resorts have cut back and started off with daily made service but may have one or two days that maids provide limited service or no service and daily maid service 5-6 days per week so I would still include those in the list.

One day Mid week does not count.

I will start with timeshares we own with daily maid service and then try and list timeshares we have visited with daily maid service.

    Playa Linda
    La Cabana
    Aruba Renaissance
    Flagship
    Jockey Club
    Windjammer Landing St. Lucia

Resorts we have been to with maid service

    Costa Linda
    Mayan Palace resorts
    Grand Mayan resorts
    Morritts Grand
    Sandals Grande villa Resort
Universal Vacation Club at Villa del palmar Puerto Vallarta
Melia Cabo beach and tennis resort
    Melia Paridissus Punta Cana
    Carpedium Roma Golf resort
    Crown Paradise Cancun
    Royal Mayan Resort Cancun
    VCI Cancun

I probably forgot a few since our first Purchase at Playa Linda Aruba in 1992.

So where have you been with daily maid service????

OK, I won't say anything like a lot of people don't like timeshares because they still have to do the daily household chores while on vacation.

The youngins that we used to drag along to our 3 Bed/3 bath exchanges in Orlando especially don't like having to keep their area clean, so we would give them the suite at the end of the hall and they would keep the door closed. One of them uses a new towel every towel-time, so it was a real bummer for her to have to do laundry (provided in the unit) every day.

They have not had to worry about the inconvenience of timeshare vacationing with us since Christmas three or four years ago.

Now that RCI is offering actual hotel/motel units for exchanges, I assume they come with daily service. Anyone know?

Ironic that RCI is offering those, since the beaucoup sales pitches we've attended have badmouthed traditonal lodging.

Candlewoodsuites Times Square does not have daily service - only a mid week tidy.
But you can get towels by request as well as sheets if u like to change the bed yourself.
This little studio had a great kitchen - it is really an "extended stay" hotel hence the only once a week clean.
Free washer/dryers but not in the unit.

Not that big a deal for us.

Hmmmmm, all/most of our Mexico visits - the Royal Resorts, not the Westin Lagunamar Cancun, Yes - Villa Del Palomar Flamingos, Avalon Grand, Grupo Mayan Resorts

Not Westin St John, Westin Mission Hills or other Starwood properties, not Marriott TS Resorts
Isn't it interesting that many of the high end properties with HIGH MFs do not have maid service.

Four Seasons Aviara - does have maid service.....

          Disney Vacation Club does not.

          Bluebeard's BeachClub STT does not.
          Sunset Ridge STJ does not.

True. Usetado Candlewood quite a lot when I traveled. Got them pretty low on Priceline.

The extended stay hotels and motels are similar to timeshares in the regard, no daily services.

But, with no purchase necessary or annual fee.

Most Mexican resorts still have daily maid service. Our two resorts do where we own.

Buganvilias - daily service. They still change the sheets and towels every day.

Grand Velas - daily service plus turn down service and 24 hour room service too but we noticed that they no longer changed the sheets every day this year; not that we cared.

I am not sure about their sister resorts but I assume they do too. They are Club Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta and Casa Velas in PV too. The Grand Velas has a second resort in or near Cancun where they have the service according to their website. We haven't been there yet.

We stayed at the Ocho Cascadas once and at Paradise Village a few times. I remember that they had daily service at the Ocho Cascadas but I don't remember if they had it at Paradise Village or not. It is not important to us.

I know that the Marriott in Maui doesn't have it and only has a towel change once during the week. We put a "do not disturb" sign on our door because we are capable to wash our own towels and empty the trash. If we needed something, we called them and they came out very quick even late at night.

With what they cost, it should be everyday.
