We went to Wyndham's Las Vegas property Desert Isle (? not sure about the name) for their presentation.
They offered us 308000 points for $23800 with MF $840/yr. Based on their brochure it's 50000-80000 points per week depending on the season, which makes it ~4-6 weeks/year.
They provided breakfast and after breakfast it was the 'lecture' by a very entertaining guy from Utah. He was joking and jumping on stage and was really a lot of fun to watch.
After this we went with our rep who was also quite entertaining. He claimed that he is a movie/show producer who just has the second jib as a TS rep.
Many things looked strange: rep tried to downplay MF. He said that they can waive MF if we provide 16 referrals during the year. After my questioning he said that it's not 16, there should be 2 people who buy and that is enough. He said: don't worry, just pick enough names from the white pages, doesn't matter if you know them or not. And they claim that they even won't mention my name when Wyndham calls them.
I was amazed that they would ask me to pull names from the white pages. Can't they do this themselves?
Then he said that we can just pay MF with 30000 points each year.
He also said that Wyndham is unique in a way that they would buy back our points if we weren't happy any time for the current price. Is this actually true? I see on EBay that one can buy 308000 points for like $5. Why would people be selling 308K points for $5 if Wyndham would buy them back for their current price?
Overall we had very good time at Wyndham. Entertaining value was well worth our time. But we didn't buy anything.
