      Better question, why did so many consumers fall for the same trick? Mostly because they were never taught to be smart consumers.

            Over the last 11 years, there has always been someone, normally more than one someones, who has/have said, "They deserved what they got."

              What a shame that my home state is so wrought with scams.

              And why did this article have to use a picture of South Beach?
              The scammers were in Fort Lauderdale about 25 miles north.

              Surprisingly Miami doesn't have too many timeshares.
              Or maybe that should be thankfully we don't.
