  • Rescinding/Cancelling Westgate Contract in Florida

    Hi there,

First up, this is a great forum full of really useful info.

I just wanted to know whether anyone here has recently tried to terminate a Westgate timeshare contract within the 10 days? Does anyone have experience of them failing to admit receipt of the cancellation letter? Or do they just pay up and sell the interest to the next person?

Just follow the instructions contained in the owners docs you received at the time of purchase. It is likely contained on a disc.

Also, be sure to use a courier service where you can obtain a record of delivery to keep for your protection.

      Whatever and however, do it.

Do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it

Any hassle now is insignificant compared to the years of hassle if you don't.

That's what I figured. The docs were all stashed in a hidden pocket in the file they gave me, but I found them luckily. And praise be for Florida law and its consumer protection. Really, there is no way they can claim not to have received the notice but I wondered whether they have ever tried it with anyone?

My experience of the process exactly matches the stories I have read on here. I guess I should be angry with them, but all I feel is anger at myself for letting myself get sucked in. What a depressing experience this has turned out to be.

You are dealing with a very unethical organization. They have tried just about everything to take people's money.

Hopefully, I will be able to post back in a few days with a positive update. It has been a difficult few days to say the least.

If you are, in fact, a knight, perhaps you would have been comfortable with King David!

Even if you are just a pretend knight, that's OK, cuz he's just a pretend king.
