Just curious, who all met Ray and Darlene?

I have been a "tugger" forever, and I feel as if I know them -- just as I feel I know a lot of the "oldtimer" tuggers.

Mav, where in the Dolomites? We once did a TS exchange into Val de Gardena, really loved the area, liked Castelrotto where we overnited in a b&b, and this coming fall have a week's stay booked in Merano. I hope to exchange into Val de Badia one of these summers.

One of my all-time favorite exchanges was into Murren, Switzerland but there's no longer a TS in the Bernese Oberland mts. Have you been there? If not I highly recommend it, bet you'd love it. One of these years I hope to go back, a hotel next time. (I've been hoping the TS would reopen but no luck so far.)

We read the reviews on the timeshares in the Dolomites and they did not sound too good, and I am a creature of comfort. SO we found a place a few years ago and stayed there and really enjoyed the room, FOOD and scenery, so we go there for about 5 nights every summer. We really enjoy Bavaria, Austria and the Dolomites in the at that time. The hotel is listed below. We stay in unit # 301 { we ask for it} and take the dinner option also. The food is great! The hotel is spotless!

FWIW, Ray and Darlene only owned 8 weeks (but TSed for 26 weeks a year). Last contact I had with them, they were in the process of trying to get their weeks transferred to their kids.

If there is any interest, I believe I saved one of their itineraries, so you can see how they did it. If I can find it, I can post it.

So with 8 owned weeks they got 26 weeks of vacations?
Sounds like they got more than 1 to 1 exchanages.
They'd probably have done great with the TPU's.

I met Ray in the hot tub at Summer Bay Resort. We got together with him and his lovely wife Darlene annually in Florida for about 6 years. Sometimes they would come to visit at our resort, sometimes we would go to theirs. On a few occasions, we had lunch at a restaurant.

The last time I talked to Darlene, she said that he was having great difficulty with memory problems, and that they were no longer travelling.

He was such an interesting man, and so generous with his time and offers of grest timeshare tips. RIP, Ray.

Yup, Ray sent me one of those.

Based on the last two years there, it looks like Tony's remembrance of 12 owned weeks is accurate.

Would it be out of line to point out that each of those exchanges only took one deposit?
