  • RCI Exchange..Can't decide

I am looking at an exchange in Nov for annual girls vacation in Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta area. I am able to get a 2 bedroom at 3 places, I have only stayed at one of them and it was many years ago. What to do, what to do.. Maybe someone can help me out with input on these resorts....

    1.Bouganvillas
    2. Krystal
    3. Canto del Sol

Canto del sol has an optional All inclusive, which we would maybe or maybe not partake of.....otherwise they are all 2 bedroom, all in dates I want and all an option I would consider since looking for somewhere new to stay. I am aware of where they all are located more or less.

    Would love some input..thanks

      Pam,
There are so many good places to eat and drink that I wouldn't partake in an AI. But that's me. So if you'd discard that one, then you have to decide if you want to be near town (you can't get much closer than Bouganvillas) or in NV. If you still can't decide, there is always darts and a map

          Just kidding.

My golf buddy and his wife, the one's I met OY, are leaving for their five weeks in Mexico Wednesday.

They have never been kidnapped, raped, shot, etc.

          That was their SOCAL friends.

I would go for the Grand Mayan - Nuevo Vallarta. It is a great resort and November is a slow month so it should be pretty easy to get.

The Buganvilas is in great location

You can walk to the Mega just down the street, you are close to everything in town. The Crystal is only a few blocks away, on the same side of the street, si it would also have a great location. I don't know anything about the Crystal, except what I have read in the review section. Sorry no help at all on the 3rd resort.

I hate it when I am indecisive.....I may have to do the map and darts approach

The AI at Canto del Sol is optional and do not want to eliminate resort due to that, as I know, I know many good places to eat in PV. Even if doing AI, we still go out for dinner if we choose.

Nov. is typically slow in PV/NV if before Thanksgiving day so no issue with that, just have to book soon as 2 bedrooms go quick or so I think they do from past experience. Nov. is slow time for drug cartel activity as they go on vacation at that time. I have been here 13 years and never been raped, shot, kidnapped, etc.......

The Mayans, Grand or Palace, good choices, but just returned from PV Mayan, going to Grand in Aca in May, and well want something different, plus am an owner of Grand Bliss, so will wait on that...though great resorts..I want to stay in PV in Nov. not NV...I just am not sure which resort to pick, mom is no help, whatever you choose..okay...I think I might pick Bouganvillas...or maybe..oh my!!!

Never been there with them, never will be. I've only been to your neck 'o the woods, Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque and Lake Chapala. That was pre-druggies, but not pre-violence. We saw plenty of it.

Several have reported problems with rci.com, including me, including IE.

Por que no??? Why do you say never will be there with them??? It is pretty much a given that you can find or hear about or maybe see violence just about anywhere, especially in mexico now where the media is targeting it. What is the world coming to???

Yes, RCI is once again having problems, nothing new for me, seems to be the status quo..ugh...hope it gets solved soon. IE worked better than Firefox for me..but the confiramtion did not show until this morning and I never got anything by email...whoa is me and RCI...

Guess I forgot the rest of that thought, that they are concerned about the situation, too, and talking about getting rid of their Mexican stuff.

One incident, even minor, would probably make their minds up.

                              Puerto Vallarta

We own at Club Regina and have been to the one in PV twice and loved it both times. Also stayed at Velas Vallarta (AI) and loved that too. They are both close to the harbor that is surrounded by great restaurants. Last visit was in 2006, but I felt safer there than almost anywhere else.
