  • Does anyone else have trouble figuring out where to vacation?

Its already March and we still have no vacation plans for this year Its not for lack of thinking about it... but hubby and I just can't seem to figure out where to go!

Anyone else have issues pulling the trigger?
Where are you going this year? maybe I just need to hear about someone elses vacation!

I have always had Mem day weekend booked 1 to 2 years out, This year I am counting our staff for finding something last Minute in our Ex Opps forum. I always say why did I book so far in advance.

I just booked Mem Day a week or so ago....I think you'll get luck. That s if you get up early enough.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Did you want to drive or fly, and where do you live? Are there any children involved?

This July I am going to San Francisco (Wyndham Canterbury on my Wyndham points). Lake Havasu, AZ through an RCI exchange, and 3 nights on the beach in Oceanside, CA (non-timeshare, military cottage rental).

There are so many wonderful places to go, it is hard to choose!

Maybe you'll just have to stay up really late a few nights.

I used to stay up to 4 or 5 am because I had to let the dog out every 2 to 3 hours, But latley I have been going to bed early around 1am since I no longer have to worry about letting the dog out.

This isn't meant to be in poor taste but given the number of natural disasters and amount of political unrest around the globe, I am really having trouble figuring out safe holiday locations.

Our family never seems to have an issue on where to go for a vacation. First it depends on our $$$. This year going to our TS in Maine for one week in May. So far that is all we are doing.

Next year the EOY TS will be our vacations.

Sometimes we add a place that we have never been. But generally our vacations are near or on the beach.

                      Good Luck

I'm with ya - as a family we typically "take off" 4-5 times per year. This year I am also stumped.....still looking for something to do during the end of June. Alot of great suggestions here.....but now that I am so use to TS - I have turned CHEAP and snobby at the same time. There is simply NO WAY I will pay $200 per night for JUST a hotel room for a week. That's $1,400!!!
A long weekend - yeah I can deal with that - but not for a week.

So, here I am last minute still looking for a couple trips to fill my summer with. I know one will be New Hampshire - waiting for Inn Season South Mountain 2 bedroom to open up. But, I'm at a lost for the rest of the year!!

Dancingfish, what sorts of activities do you enjoy?

                          Our plans:
                          June: 2 wks Cape Cod
July: 2 wks Rocky Mts, Colorado

Have you thought about Colorado for summer, or some other mountain area like Jackson Hole or Park City? Some of these aren't too-difficult trades outside of ski season, lots of spectacular country to explore.

No kids involved unless they decide to freeload and tag along (they are grown-ups now haha) No golf for us. We do like swimming, and visiting historical spots, touring etc.

I think I am going to pull the tigger on Sedona.. we have to go to Vegas for a graduation so maybe I will bundle up the trip.. Just alittle worried about some of the reviews I have been reading..

I too am a snob- I want resort! or else I could skip the timeshare and stay at the ramada inn!! haha

You will enjoy Sedona. It is one of the few landlocked places I would return to.

I usually don't have trouble finding a place I want to go. I let exchange opportunities blow me where they will.
