  • Need family vacation ideas

For many years we have taken our adult kids on an annual family vacation to Hilton Head. I think it is time for a change and would appreciate ideas about where other families have enjoyed golf, tennis and swimming as a family. Many thanks. Jan

In my area (California) I would reccomend either Eagle Crest in Oregon or Lawrence Welk in Escondido, Ca.

        Family vacations

Any time of year and we can drive and/or fly. Everyone is very flexible. The kids are scattered across the country. Thanks. Jan

Well the Royals in Cancun are a great destination. Golf/tennis/swimming all available. Not as much golf variety as Hilton Head, though, not sure how important that is to you, but I believe guests get a discount at the Pok Ta Pok course (I am not a golfer, can't help with golf questions beyond that). There is a lot to do in the area, a good selection of restaurants, and the accommodations are top shelf. We've just booked our third trip there. If you avoid school breaks there won't be as many kids around.

I bet there are some great Florida destinations for you too, maybe on the Gulf? Naples?

Why don't you try a winter trip to a ski area for a change? Find a resort with an indoor pool and hot tubs with good skiing. Make sure they also offer tubing, in case any in your party just won't go downhill and don't want the cross country effort.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a trip out West. Plenty of good sights out there.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I had absolutely "hit the wall" and could not come up with any ideas. Have some great ideas now. Many thanks. Jan
