You live and Canada and are a Canadian citizen ? So no worry about credit scores and no impact on your capacity to enter the US etc ....not much they can do against you !! so, maybe that`s what you should do.
I own 3 TS and taught about trying to sell/give them but no market , no value so next month I'm going to stop payments. I tried to talk to the resort ; I proposed them to take back 2 "odd years" units in exchange for one more week for the 3 BD lock-out I already owned.( $400 more in their pockets annually ) I showed up at the resort last fall in Orlando and tried to meet someone from the resort but I was laughed at.
So , I decided to get rid of all the TS ; did my homework about the consequences for Canadian citizens and I now know for sure they can't touch me ; I'll just have to put up with the harassment but they will eventually offer me to take back the units.
Think about doing the same !
However i do know (from the past) that debt collection agencies can outsource to other countries and get you black listed, for me that would result in deportation, however at the end of this year i will hold a Canada passport so cant be deported, i might look in to this option, i would like to find out what you research with regards debts and timeshares.

Originally posted by SallyHooverI'm not sure who Eldorado is. If Eldorado is part of the upfront fee company he is lying to you to get your money. I thought you owned at the Grandview in Las Vegas. They are part of Vacation Villages. While the sales people may tell you that transferring through resale is difficult, it is not and they don't do a credit check. Once the deed is transferred and registered with the county and the transfer fee is paid (if applicable) the transfer takes another week or two and viola it is in the new owners name and not in yours.
There have been many who have bought there through ebay. Unfortunately for you, the week that you own is not one of the ones that have a higher value so it will take more time and effort to get rid of it. In the mean time at least the MF's are not too high. If you don't want to pay to belong to RCI (and many don't see value in it these days), there are other independent exchange companies that don't charge to belong and will let you search without depositing and you only pay when you make an exchange.
Good luck and I hopefully everything will work out for you. I am sorry for your loss.
I was told (by the company who wants loads of money to transfer it) Eldorado Colorado are no longer allowing "transfers". Which sounds like scare tactics to me
